ok so I have made my first bump key, and im trying to unlock my shed with no luck. The lock on the doorknob is mounted upside down (teeth slide in facing down). Does this mean its harder for the pins to be bumped?

I don't think that there is any special method for upside down locks. The same technique is used because pins are connected through spring and it all work same.
