Got the bump key to open a dead bolt I was playing around with .......... but the key snapped off while trying to close the lock back up. The blanks are delicate as hell.

Sorry to hear that. But you got to be careful bump keys are not that strong. As you said they are very delicate.

This is why I don't just buy any bump keys. I always look out for the brand and the material used for the bump key I'll be buying because not all of them are durable. Some are thinner but are made from stronger materials making them resistant to snapping.

It would also depend on the way you bump or what hammer did you use right???
