Not sure if this is the right place but i think folks generally interested in locks might have some input.

Regarding magnetic alarms (not locks) is there anyway to bypass them without tripping the alarm? For example a hotel roof, the door *should* be left open as its a fire door but with a magnetic alarm to alert the security desk of its opening. Is there anyway to beat this? Im sure its not as simple as simply taking another magnet and holding it in place as the door opens. :confused:

be like magiver and use a stick of gum :) but no realy this is the wrong place.
