Could anyone shed light on what would be a similar set but in the UK? Does anyone have any statistics regarding lock type popularity in the UK or England. I have a lot of success with me YALE key but what else is popular?

I'm assuming by 'what do these keys do?' you mean bump keys? Pretty weird you got this far without working it out. They open locks they're not cut for. They're really the nearest thing you'll get to the mythical 'skeleton key' .
In answer to the previous post, I asked several lock distributors and got a pretty conclusive answer. The most popular UK (rim cylinder/pin tumbler)locks are:
YALE
UNION
ASEC
ERA
CHUBB
I'm working on a set as we speak; it might only take a couple of keys to cover the lot.

Really though, once all orders are caught up we'll add ALOT more keys.

shadow: Schlage and Yale are pretty common in businesses here in the US, Kwikset is by far the most common household lock here. Once in a while, you'll run across a Yale or Schlage on a house, but it's usually pretty much few and far between...Kwikset takes the cake. I like the M1's they have on BumpKey.US, those are GREAT for padlocks, as almost everyone who wants a "secure" lock goes for Master, and the key they have is pretty universal for Masters.

I think what shadow meant was what is each key used for as in what kind of lock do the various keys open.

Most are for doors, either the door knob lock or the deadbolt lock. The M1 key is for padlocks.
