I have a Hon proline file cabinet and have lost my keys I want to try a bump key will this work and what kind of key do I need?

I doubt that the lock is a pin tumbler lock. It is probably a disk tumbler and therefore not bump-able. If the cabinet is locked shut, call a locksmith to open it and make you more keys.
Bump it to the next level.

Yeah that's true cabinet locks cannot be bumped but will be picked so a locksmith will do the job.
