my first bump key...help appreceated!

well...here is a pic of my first bump key...i tried my best...and help on getting this thing going would be great!

It looks like the peaks are to high, and the gaps are not wide enough..

I cannot see very well, but it looks like you should file down the valleys a litlle bit more.

You may want to look around the forum or at bumpkey.us and find a picture of a KW1 that is cut to spec and compare yours, then make yours look like that.
Bump it to the next level.

Give it a try....I've seen really 'rough' keys that work....especially in a 'shitset'...I mean....a...'kwikset'..... :)

i did...no such luck...then i started filing again and i believe i filled it down wayyy to much...oh well...*waits for his bump key to arive*

i dont know if it help but i found a template with a bunch of key types on it i print it to scale use white glue it to my key blank and dremal the out line with a THIN cutoff wheel but be careful you can take more off than u can put back!! LOL

Bit more practice on filing will make the bump keys more perfect. If valleys and gaps are OK then the key will work fine on the lock.
