We've been doing a bit of testing around here and have found that our Dexter DE6 key actually does a VERY good job at bumping a kwikset KW1 keyway.
It seems that we're getting very good results by using a padlock to strike the key. We're using the pull out method and have not yet attempted to bump our KW1 lock with a DE6 using the minimal movement method (shall we just call it MMM or m3?) I'll post a video soon...

Has anyone else had similar results with different key ways?

You may also find that the DE6 will not work in some KW1 keyways depending on the manufacturer of the KW1 that you are working with. I have even found different KwikSet manufactured locks that will take the DE6 key and some that will not. Dexter also makes a SC1 key that sometimes work in an SC1 Schlage manufactured lock and sometimes will not work. The millings are just a tad smaller and the key cannot go in the lock. Basically it seems like a crap shoot as to whether it will work or not.
Bump it to the next level.
