im trying to bump this lock. i bought it at the local hard ware store. i never bumped before. i try and try but cant seem to get it to work. the keys are nice. a aunt of mine operates the key machine at the hardware store. she made me exactly what i wanted. even shaved the tip and shoulders to my specifications. the problem is i dont know how to make it work, is there a trick to it? i need opions and advice on tension. maybe thats it?
yeah!!!

normally i would scream virus alert, but since you provided a video i wont. There are a couple reasons why it could be not working. The key originally for that lock could have a nine cut in it, in which case you would need to file the vallys a little deeper. Check the original key to see if any of the cuts are the same depth as the depth on the bump key. Other than that, it is a matter of getting a feel for how much tension (very little, it should be feather light) and how hard to hit. You are doing something right if you hear clicking though. Let me know if this helps.

no videos i know! well i gues im going to lead the site with videos. yeah the video dude. so i guess i can post a video on how to make the bump key next. people usually know how deep to file a key. they just cant get the tip and the shoulders right. maybe that will help.
yeah!!!

If you are making your own "bump" keys why would you set them up so that you had to file shoulders and tips.
