What is the easiest way to tell where the 9 depth of a key without use a pad lock to check the depth. I have alot of key but i cant tell the depth of them

your local locksmith =]... or just to the "line" of the key if u are filing it yourself... plus google.com helps

edit:
ok mayb i was a little too moody there, dude if u have alot of keys, u must have at LEAST ONE key that has a lower cut than the rest... look at all your keys, the one that is cut to RIGHT ON the line is most likely the one that is cut to 9 depth

I would just order the keys already cut by machine to deepest depths from www.bumpkey.us :wink:

Mostly in filing I will keep the depth on the line and make the valleys more wider. Always file smoothly and go slow at filing process.
