Is tip and shoulder modification required?

Is tip and shoulder modification required?

For the minimal Movement method it's required. If you don't file down the tip and shoulder you'll just have to pull the key out one notch before bumping, and it might take a few more tries than the filed down method.

Don't practice on a lock that you will be using, you might damage it.

Good Luck.

Those already have shoulder cuts in them? lol....

I just ordered them yesterday. I havent recieved them yet.

If those are shoulder cuts, are they going to make the keys harder to get copied?

in my eyes i think they are modified... haha but if nething just test it out like this: put the keys all the way into the respective lock/keyhole and see if the key springs back out a bit. you will know what i mean if u try it... that basically means they have cut shoulders. if not then just find the shoulder mod topic in one of these forums and do that. hope i help a bit i guess =\

Nope, those keys are not modified as far as I can tell from that picture. If they were and they were sent through the mail you would be looking at a felony, so be careful. Remember, you're ordering depth keys, not bump keys.

If you file the tip and shoulder then its going to be work more efficiently. The filing is the most important process in the whole lock bumping process.
